SUSTAINABILITY NEWS

Every year, Coteccons organizes internships for students from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, etc. This program has created opportunities for 3rd and 4th-year students to participate in projects, experience, and learn soft skills & practical experience at construction sites. After the selection rounds and interviews, the 12 best students who have been admitted to the 2022 internship program will participate in projects in the South in June. On June 7, 2022, the Department of Human Resources in collaboration with Coteccons Training Academy and the Safety Board held a meeting “Meet, share & train on occupational safety” to help the students better understand the Company, career path and more importantly, to equip themselves with knowledge about occupational safety before practice at the construction sites. The practical and sincere sharing from the senior staff has received positive feedback from the students. Although the meeting was short but full of content that interested them. This is not only knowledge luggage but also the motivation for the students to complete the upcoming internship. With the motto “Focus on developing people – People are the most valuable asset”, these interns will be the next generation, a source of quality engineers who can join the Company right after graduation. This promises to be a young, talented, well-trained team, fully equipped with knowledge and skills to contribute to “building futures” with Coteccons.

Coteccons launches the “OUR HOME” project – home is where there is love, a community project to bring a new look to public works or houses of disadvantaged households by utilizing paint stores from construction sites and completed Coteccons projects. At Coteccons, we believe that a successful business is one that builds a better world. Not only through modern buildings, iconic architecture and skyscrapers, Coteccons is committed to creating a better future through small actions, starting from the simplest of buildings. That conviction inspired the “OUR HOME” idea. By utilizing existing paint sources that have expired or been used, “OUR HOME” not only beautifies the old buildings but is also an environmentally friendly solution, minimizing harm to the environment. “OUR HOME” is not about a house or any specific building, but it is an imprint of sharing, connecting and joining hands for the community, where Coteccons brings goodwill and interest together to paint the bright colors of hope on the works. And we believe that home is where there is love. Introduction Video In September 2022, the “OUR HOME” project was launched in Tien Giang province with the support of APACHE-Tien Giang Project Manager Board. The program has brought a bright new look to more than five houses in the area. “OUR HOME” project is also launched in Ho Chi Minh City. Humanitarian blood donation is a meaningful and humanitarian activity, particularly in extremely critical and urgent situations such as the current pandemic. Understanding that, the Coteccons and Unicons Trade Union Executive Committees collaborated with the City Red Cross Society. The Labor Confederation of Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Thanh District launched the program “Blood Drops- The Treasure of Love,” inviting all employees to join in this significant yearly blood donation on Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021, at Company Headquarters. There are only a few positive signs in the pandemic situation, so it is still necessary to ensure safe procedures to avoid spreading the disease in blood donation work, such as measuring body temperature, wearing masks, washing hands and disinfecting, ensuring distance safety and avoiding gathering too many people, in addition to measuring blood pressure and health check for each employee before donating blood. More than 100 qualifying employees donated between 250 mL and 350 mL of blood after roughly 3 hours of organization, contributing to the city’s blood fund to treat and save lives. Mr. Nguyen Mau Thanh, a Coteccons System Department employee, shared: “This is an excellent program with a noble goal of assisting those in need by delivering the appropriate amount of blood to the appropriate location. This is also a chance for my body to work better, thus I’d like to be able to donate blood once a year. It’s especially enjoyable after donating blood because there are presents.” Ms. Phan Thi Trung-Human Resources and General
