Ho Chi Minh City, October 30, 2024 – Coteccons (HoSE: CTD) has published Q1 FY2025 financial report, showing impressive growth and securing several major projects that reinforce Coteccons’ leading position in Vietnam’s construction industry. By the end of Q1 FY2025, Coteccons achieved outstanding growth figures, with revenue reaching VND 4,759 billion, a 15.4% increase; gross profit at VND 205 billion, up 105%; and after-tax profit at VND 93 billion, a 39.46% year-on-year increase. Notably, the gross profit margin rose by 1.89%, reaching 4.32%, a result of Coteccons’ focus on high-margin projects and operational efficiencies implemented over the past two years. In recent times, the Debt Recovery Supervision and Risk Management Boards have effectively worked to reverse provisioning and reduce concentration risks. This quarter marks the first time since 2020 that the company has not made any additional provisions for bad debts. Making strides with major projects in early 2025 Since the start of the 2025 fiscal year, Coteccons and Unicons have secured contracts for numerous large-scale projects across the residential, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, with a total contract value reaching VND 10.3 trillion. According to Board Resolution No. 24/2024/NQ-HDQT dated 17/10/2024, the following personnel changes have been made: Mr. Vo Hoang Lam, previously the CEO of Coteccons, will take on the role of Deputy CEO of Coteccons and General Director of CTD Business Unit 01. Mr. Lam will be fully focused on developing the infrastructure, public investment, FDI sectors, and other projects in the Central and Southern regions. On September 29, 2024, FiinRatings, a leading credit rating agency in Vietnam and a technical partner of S&P Global Ratings, upgraded Coteccons’ long-term credit rating from BBB to BBB+ with a “Stable” outlook. This recognition is a proud achievement for Coteccons after three years of restructuring and operational stabilization. On the afternoon of October 3, 2024, at the Government Office, Coteccons had the honor of attending the Prime Minister’s working session with contractors, construction associations, and unions. On September 13, 2024, at the Coteccons headquarters, the Coteccons Training Academy (CTA) organized a workshop titled “Accident-Free Work Environment” to raise awareness about occupational safety and discuss ways to build a safe working environment for all employees working at Coteccons Group. As one of Coteccons’ core values, safety culture is always a priority, and it is also a leading standard in the construction industry. Coteccons not only focuses on providing high-quality services to partners and investors but also aims to create a safe and comfortable working environment throughout the working process for all employees. This workshop attracted the participation of leaders and employees from member companies such as Unicons, UG M&E, Sinh Nam Metal, along with project directors, division directors, and site managers from various construction sites. The workshop began with an introduction to the goals and main content. On September 17, 2024, Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province, and local authorities, held a groundbreaking ceremony for planting trees in the nature reserve buffer zone protecting the white-cheeked gibbon population in Dong Hoa Commune, Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province. This project is funded by the GreenUP Marathon. Inspired by the GreenUP Marathon’s green vision, Coteccons pledges to plant one tree for every 5 km completed by a participant. After two seasons of the race—2022 in Quang Binh and 2023 in Binh Duong—more than 22,000 trees have been planted to reforest protective forest areas in Quang Binh Province. Continuing this tradition, in 2024, Coteccons committed to planting 11,111 trees, including species such as Chukrasia velutina, Erythrophleum fordii, Tarrietia javanica, Baccaurea, and Sarcocephalus coadunatus Druce, across 10 hectares of forest in the buffer zone of the white-cheeked gibbon population in Dong Hoa Commune, Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province. This initiative follows the GreenUP Marathon – Long An Half Marathon 2024, held on August 24 in Long An Province. HCMC, July 30, 2024 — Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (HOSE: CTD) has released its consolidated financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024. Key financial indicators, including revenue and profits, have shown significant growth compared to the previous year. For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, Coteccons achieved a revenue of 21,045 billion VND, marking a 30.8% increase compared to fiscal year 2023, achieving 118% of the company’s previous business plan target at 17,793 billion VND and 105% of the newly adjusted plan at 20,000 billion VND. Gross profit almost doubled from the prior year, reaching 712 billion VND. Profit after tax rose by 343%, amounting to 299 billion VND, achieving 109% and 104% of the old and new business plan targets, respectively. In 2024, Coteccons secured new contracts worth 22 trillion VND, providing a strong foundation for achieving next year’s production and business goals. Notably, 41 of these projects are the result of the company’s successful “repeat sales” strategy, indicating a high level of trust and satisfaction from existing clients. COTECCONS CONSTRUCTION JOINT STOCK COMPANY (Coteccons) hereby announces the conclusion of the dispute case No. 49/23/HCM regarding the payment obligation to BOHO DECOR COMPANY LIMITED (Boho). In the time of 2020, Coteccons and Boho had signed and implemented Contracts in which Boho was the subcontractor for Coteccons in designing, supplying, and finishing the interior of the construction investment projects (Phase implemented by the former leadership). On April 18, 2023, Boho sent a document requesting Coteccons to pay approximately VND 44 billion related to the transactions in the above-mentioned period. When reviewing the records and legal documents, Coteccons found that making the payment as requested by Boho would affect the rights and interests of shareholders. The reasons are: (i) The documents attached to Boho’s payment request lack a legal basis and it is impossible to determine the amount to be paid; (ii) the signed Contracts are transactions with related parties but have not been approved by competent authorities in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Enterprises and the Law on Securities; (iii) The State Securities Commission has issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions on the types of transactions with related parties that occurred during the above-mentioned period. On April 25, 2024, the Board of Directors of Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (stock code: CTD) approved the Decision to revise the business plan for fiscal year 2024 (spanning from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024). Specifically, Coteccons sets a new revenue target of 20,000 – 20,500 billion VND, replacing the earlier-approved goal of 17,793 billion VND. This adjustment also translates into a revised post-tax profit goal, shifting from the previous aim of 274 billion VND to 288 – 296 billion VND. Coteccons announced the decision to raise its new business goal after assessing positive results that maintained the growth trend during the first 9 months of the new fiscal year. By the end of March 2024, Coteccons’ revenue reached 14,400 billion VND, completing 81% of the planned target. Additionally, profit after tax amounted to 240 billion VND, occupying 88% of the proposed plan. Other financial indicators also demonstrate growth trends, both financially and operationally. Notably, Coteccons has enhanced the quality of accounts receivable by allocating provisions of 180 billion VND for bad debts. Moreover, general and administrative expenses have decreased by 16 billion VND, marking a 7% reduction over the same period. The topping-out ceremony was attended by representatives from the client, the company’s leadership, the supervision consultant, the project management team, as well as subcontractor partners and suppliers involved in the project. Urban Green marks the second collaboration between Coteccons and Kusto Home following the success of the Diamond Island project. Built on a scale of 20,203m², including one basement with an area of 12,322m² and two 24-story blocks, with a construction density of 32.3%, Urban Green, when completed, will offer a modern and comfortable living space for residents. The 2.3-hectare Sky Forest Residence project belongs to the EcoPark Hung Yen urban area. On May 20, 2023, Coteccons organized a training program on business conduct policy, a specialized training course on Vietnam’s anti-corruption regulations and compliance with the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and an information security policy. The program is open to all employees of Coteccons and Unicons who are working in the back office and on construction sites across the country. Quang Binh, February 2, 2023 The Green Up 2023 tree planting project is officially launched by Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company, in collaboration with local agencies and departments. Initially, Coteccons will plant 8,000 special-use forest trees in the buffer zone to protect the white-necked langur population in Thach Hoa commune, Tuyen Hoa district, and Quang Binh province with a total investment of 1 billion VND. This is the next step of the Green Up project: planting trees for the future of Coteccons and fulfilling the commitment to plant 10,000 trees after the Coteccons Quang Binh Marathon organized by Coteccons in early August 2022. With the commitment, Coteccons will plant 1 tree in Vietnam’s greening journey for every 5 km completed by athletes in the race, at the Prime Minister’s request. Mr. Mai Xuan Hap, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Binh Province, said: “In 2022, Quang Binh’s forest cover will reach 67.8%. We greatly appreciate Coteccons for taking many initiatives and participating in many tree planting activities in Quang Binh province, demonstrating their responsible role for the environment. According to data from the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, the country has about 7 million construction workers, accounting for 13.5% of the workforce aged 15 and over. Nearly 150 employees of Coteccons – Unicons participated in the annual blood donation activity held on the morning of November 23, 2022. Every drop of blood donated is a hope that is lit for emergency patients. With this spirit, the blood donation program is organized by Coteccons – Unicons Trade Union in collaboration with Binh Thanh District Union and Center for Donation. Ho Chi Minh City’s blood donation took place at Hall G, Coteccons office on November 23, 2022. This is an annual activity held at Coteccons to show the spirit of solidarity and action for the community of the Coteccons people. After only 4 days, the program has received nearly 150 applications for blood donation from employees. The Humanitarian Blood Donation Program is organized by Coteccons – Unicons Trade Union in collaboration with Binh Thanh District Federation and Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center. The organization is well-prepared, meticulous, and considerate. Each volunteer who donates blood will do the following steps: obtain a code; assess blood pressure; draw blood; drink sugar tea or have breakfast; and receive a certificate with a gift prepared by the Blood Donation Center. The working environment takes up most of the living space of staff, especially when it comes to civil engineers, who work specifically at construction sites every day. Green Day activities are organized every Friday to keep the construction site ‘green’, thus creating a clean working environment. Each completed charity house in Huong Phung commune gives one more child the opportunity to go to school. Accordingly, Coteccons is awarded as the General Contractor for the full completion of all works including all site development and building works in Streams 1-5, a total of approximately 163,000 m² (GFA). On August 6, a 2,000-person race in Quang Binh used old scaffolding, recycled materials for awards and running clothes, and planted trees for every 5 kilometers participants finished. The Coteccons Quang Binh Marathon 2022 breathes new life into the green construction industry. It recycles 4,000 pieces of old scaffolding from the construction site to create a welcoming gate, banner, and stage. According to the organizers’ spokesman, this idea derives from a desire to develop a green running marathon that minimizes environmental damage while providing a fresh experience for competitors. Created from 400 kg of recycled materials (straws, milk cartons, plastic cups/caps…) gathered and fabricated utilizing sophisticated technology by Coteccons and Plastic People, the event medals also offer a green message. Mr. Bolat Duisenov, Coteccons Chairman, personally introduced this medal model to 2,000 competitors and stated that it is a rare item in each person’s running achievement. Faslink’s shirt is comprised of recycled materials from plastic bottles and shells and is manufactured in factories that fulfill GRS worldwide recycling standards to assure 100% environmental friendliness. Prioritizing recyclable materials and recycling outdated scaffolding is simply one of many strategies to propagate the marathon’s green lifestyle. Coteccons’ profit in the second quarter of 2022 decreased due to the past burden The number of new projects and contracts worth tens of thousands of billion dong helped Coteccons’ revenue grows again, but handling the backlog of the previous period affected the company’s profit. Past burdens, present difficulties Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (HoSE: CTD) has just announced its consolidated financial statements for the second quarter of 2022, with net revenue increasing by 28.6% over the same period, accumulated revenue in the first 6 months of 2022 reached 5,193 billion VND. With outstanding efforts in saving costs and increasing the efficiency of arising packages, the handover and finalization projects in 2022 have exceeded the profit of 135 billion VND, and the 2nd quarter gross profit increased by 60% compared to the same period in 2021. With the increasingly fierce competition in the construction field, in addition to focusing on the core business by ensuring and improving the quality of works to approach international standards, the company must rapidly develop new business segments such as infrastructure, renewable energy; expand environment-friendly construction solutions; optimize technology, etc. Strategy to diversify business activities in the field with high intellectual and technological content will require focus on and investment more in human resources. Humanitarian blood donation is a meaningful and humanitarian activity, particularly in extremely critical and urgent situations such as the current pandemic. Understanding that, the Coteccons and Unicons Trade Union Executive Committees collaborated with the City Red Cross Society. The Labor Confederation of Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Thanh District launched the program “Blood Drops- The Treasure of Love,” inviting all employees to join in this significant yearly blood donation on Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021, at Company Headquarters. There are only a few positive signs in the pandemic situation, so it is still necessary to ensure safe procedures to avoid spreading the disease in blood donation work, such as measuring body temperature, wearing masks, washing hands and disinfecting, ensuring distance safety and avoiding gathering too many people, in addition to measuring blood pressure and health check for each employee before donating blood. More than 100 qualifying employees donated between 250 mL and 350 mL of blood after roughly 3 hours of organization, contributing to the city’s blood fund to treat and save lives. From 14th to 21st of February 2020, Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company launched a campaign to “rescue” 25 tons of watermelons to support farmers who are struggling to consume them in the market because of the epidemics of COVID 19. Accordingly, the number of rescued agricultural products will be divided into 02 free distribution stages to the workers at the construction sites of Coteccons in 3 regions of the country. Specifically, on February 14th, 2020, the Company organized the support to purchase 13 tons of watermelons (phase 1) to give out to about 10,000 workers working at major construction sites in the Ho Chi Minh area.
